‘Real Housewife’ Shannon Beador sells her eco-friendly Crystal Cove house for $9 million

‘Real Housewife’ Shannon Beador and her husband David Beador have sold their eco-friendly, six bedroom Crystal Cove house with a subterranean, indoor basketball court for $9.05 million.

The 13,306-square-foot residence in the guard-gated Newport Coast community was originally listed for just under $16 million. After a series of price cuts, it came back on the market in February at $10.898 million.

The four-story house, with an elevator and peek-a-boo ocean views, sits on about three quarters of an acre. The property includes a one bedroom, two-bathroom guest house.

Highlights include a piano room and a panic room converted into a children’s tea room. Grounds include a swimming pool, putting green and garden, and underground parking can accommodate 11 cars.

Built in 2012 with nontoxic materials, the house has solid wood paneling, organic wallpaper, clean-air technology and a purified water system throughout.

“I wanted to make it the healthiest home possible,” Shannon Beador said in an interview with The Register last year. The couple hired a “green consultant,” she told Bravo TV.

In its most recent listing, the home was marketed as having the lowest price per square foot for a custom home “in Crystal Cove history.”

John Cain and Kathryn White of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty were the listing agents; Devin Lucas of Lucas Real Estate represented the buyer.
